WHY SENSORY PLAY MATTERS?
Research shows sensory play encourages babies and toddlers to explore the environment around them using their 5 senses (sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch).
Child Psychologist Jean Piaget, focused a lot of his work on child brain development. Emphasising the benefits of exposure to sensory-inspired play and materials and the positive impact this has on children's cognition and development. Sensory play has shown to increase memory, allow for creative thinking, problem solving and promote gross motor skills.

We are two childhood best friends that began our journey into motherhood together. Watching our boys grow through the different ages and stages of play and having both had previous early childhood education experience we wanted to create purposeful play moments for babies and toddlers. Our Kiwiana inspired and self designed Play Mat is where it all began. Nosey Toesie was inspired by our firstborns, we are a family run business located in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
