How to clean and care for our Touch 'n Go Baby Sensory Play Mat

Keeping it Safe, Soft, and Ready for Everyday Play

At Nosey Toesie, we know just how much love, dribble, baby spill (and mess!) a baby play mat can see. From tummy time and first rollovers, to smiles in the mirror and pulling at the shapes, and snack breaks to snuggly moments - our Touch 'n Go Play Mat is there for it all. That’s why we’ve made our sensory play mats not only beautiful and developmentally rich, but also practical and easy to care for.

Here’s everything you need to know to keep your play mat looking great, clean and feeling soft for your little one’s daily adventures.

Gentle Machine Wash (When Needed)

Life with babies gets messy and that’s perfectly okay. For a full clean, you can pop your play mat in the washing machine using a gentle or delicates, cold cycle. Please remove the velcro mirror and birds, before placing play mat into wash. We recommend putting the play mat into a laundry bag or pillow case, to prevent any wear from rough surfaces inside your machine. We also recommend you use baby-friendly detergent which are free from bleach or strong fragrances to keep the fabrics safe for babies delicate skin.

Spot Clean for Daily Play use

Most days, a full wash won’t be needed, but for small spills, dribbles, or markings, a simple spot clean with a soft cloth and warm soapy water will do the trick. Be gentle when spot cleaning - no harsh scrubbing.

Stain removal

If your play mat has been stained by a toddler using a felt marker or berry juice dropping onto it, as soon as you can, put area under warm water and rub mat fabric together (area where stain has happened against another area). Then gently rub over the area with a Sunlight Laundry Soap Bar or another non-harsh stain remover soap bar leave for 10-15minutes and then place play mat in a wash bag and onto a delicate cold cycle.

Air Dry in the Shade

To dry our play mat, hang it outside or in a well-ventilated room, out of direct sunlight. The strong New Zealand sun can potentially cause fading or fabric wear over time.

Note: Please Avoid tumble drying or using heaters to speed up drying process - gentle air drying is safest.

Storage Tips to Keep it Looking New!

• Roll or lay flat to avoid deep creases

• If folding away, fold along lines of mat.

• Store in a cool, dry place - ideally in a breathable cotton bag or storage box

• Avoid placing heavy items on top of it for long periods
